ok real talk if u are using a knife like this to cut your tomatoes

ur doing it wrong, you’ll likely squish the fruit or the knife will slip off and cut you (if it’s sharp enough you may not have this problem but)
use a bread knife like this with the teeth on it kinda

those teeth are designed to cut the skin of tomatoes and crusts of bread so they don’t squish and also have better grip on whatever you’re cutting
don’t believe me, try it next time

I always use the pointy end first to break the skin…then it’s easy…
